HOW DOES THE CITY IN WHICH YOU LIVE INSPIRE YOU?
Singapore is a port, a meeting place of cultures, styles, languages, typography, architecture, Malay, Chinese, Indian and European culture all mixed together. It moves quickly; technology and nature, palm trees and escalators all squished into a tiny 40KM island. It’s great.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL WORKSPACE.
I like to be surrounded by images, art, flyers, toys and sculptures. All these accidental juxtapositions help trigger new thoughts and perspectives. Good music and good snacks in the fridge.
WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT I WOULD BE SURPRISED TO FIND IN YOUR SPACE?
Two giant headless tigers we refitted with speakers.
DESCRIBE A REAL LIFE MUNDANE SITUATION THAT INSPIRES YOU.
When a billboard has been torn and you can see the images below it. When a Neon sign has stopped working partially to spell a new word. When a van door is open and disrupts a logo to create a new shape or graphic. It’s all about keeping your eyes open, and picking up little nuggets of ideas with you wherever you go.WHAT THEMES DO YOU PURSUE IN YOUR WORK?

The decay of asian heritage, the bombardment of modern media information and entertainment in pop culture. The interplay between east and west, the clashes and the complements. I like to reference films, music and symbolism from everywhere. The remix is what moves me forward.
WHAT’S THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN AND FROM WHOM?
“Pictures are so good at giving people information they are not looking for.” – Tibor Kalman
WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT CREATING?
Playing with my 3 year old kid. The whirlwind of chaos.
WHAT MINDSET/MOOD DO YOU MAKE YOUR BEST ART/WORK?
A combination of being relaxed and pissed off
