How does the city in which you live inspire you?
Our house is in a very inspiring neighbourhood of amsterdam; the ‘red light district’. it’s still a bit rough and unpolished. the use of square meters in this part of town is very liberal and efficient. Next to the obvious window brothels, there are a lot of new creative initiatives, design offices, restaurants, salvation army, churches etc…
Does the space you work in have an interesting story?
The building is an annex of the Oudezijds Voorburgwal 101 and dates back to 1880. It was the office and servants entry for the main residence on the canal Oudezijds Voorburgwal.
After that period the building has mostly been an office. A few years back, the building served the ‚red light fashion’ project, where the municipality of Amsterdam wanted to redirect and reboost the ‘red light district ‘ with creative energy.
What is your dream project?
A sleazy bar, an interior of an airplane, redefining a bridge or a hospital.
