Botanica is a textile lighting series by Ladies & Gentlemen Studio, made in collaboration with Cara Marie Piazza of Calyx Studios — a natural dye house rooted in botanical alchemy.This film documents the making of a single piece: raw silk transformed through traditional dipping and bundle dyeing with mugwort, logwood, rose, madder, marigold, and citric acid. No two pieces are alike. Each pattern is shaped by hand, by season, and by the specific character of the plant.The result — Veil and Altostratus editions — arrives not as a product but as a record of process.
