GAETANO PESCE

GAETANO PESCE is an Italian architect and a design pioneer of the 20th century. Pesce is best known for his “La Mama” armchair and works with casting techniques to create objects including vases, chairs, lamps and two-dimensional reliefs that he calls “industrial skins.”

Gaetano was born in La Spezia, Italy, and during his 50-year career has worked as an architect, urban planner, and industrial designer. Innovative, witty, and stylish, his work is characterized by an inventive use of color and materials, challenging accepted standards of abstraction, uniformity, and homogeneity, while asserting connections between the individual and society
