ABOUT WHERE YOU CREATE?
I create about light, symmetry and color. I dont like to classify what I do, but its viable to say its op-art.

WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT I WOULD BE SURPRISED TO FIND IN YOUR SPACE?
Order. Because there are a lot of things (threads, paints, tools, etc) and everything is organized by color and sizes.

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL WORKSPACE IN THREE WORDS?
Simple and colorful. I like plants too.

DOES THE SPACE YOU WORK IN HAVE AN INTERESTING STORY?
Not sure, but this place resisted two earthquakes (1985 and 2017) so it’s a strong place.

DO YOU WORK AND LIVE IN THE SAME SPACE, IF SO HOW DOES THAT AFFECT YOUR WORK?
Yes, I’m used to working everytime i have free time so it’s very logical to live in my studio. I love to wake up and just walk a few steps and be at Suarez Studios.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF IN THE SPACE?
Peace, I think my place is a place you really enjoy to stay.

WHAT CAN YOU SEE OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOWS?
Parque España, one of the two parks in La Condesa.

DESCRIBE A REAL LIFE MUNDANE SITUATION THAT INSPIRES YOU!
Happiness! I love happy people and happy moments, so always I receive good energy from my environment. I feel inspiration to transform this energy into colors and share this happiness through my art
WHAT THEMES DO YOU PURSUE IN YOUR WORK?
The way in which color behaves in space and how this affects our pursuit.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM PROJECT?
I’d like to intervene in a huge space, something like a museum. a marathon project in which I worked for some years. Something impossible like when Michelangelo intervened in the Sistine Chapel.

FAVOURITE SONG/BAND PODCAST WHILE WORKING?
Sometimes Schubert / Sometimes Los Angeles Azules.

WHAT’S THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN AND FROM WHOM?
My friend Javier Marin told me some years ago to work independently without galleries and I’m sure it was the best for me.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST IMPORTANT ARTIST’S TOOL?
Freedom.

WHAT MINDSET/MOOD DO YOU MAKE YOUR BEST ART/WORK?
Happiness, but I recognize that sometimes I work hard in difficult times when I am very anxious.

WHEN YOU DAY DREAM IN YOUR SPACE AND JUST LOSE YOURSELF IN THOUGHT, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING OR WORRYING ABOUT?
My family and my country mostly, but on many things about finance, marketing and negotiations as well.

WHAT TOOLS OR OBJECTS OR BOOKS, ARE INDISPENSABLE IN HELPING YOU CREATIVE OR THINK.
Dancing is always my best way to promote my creativity. I love to dance and I do it at any time.
