ALEX FARRAR

Alex Farrar is an established English talent you should keep your eye on. At only 30 years of age, Alex has exhibited his work globally at over 50 solo and group exhibitions.

Amsterdam-based Farrar, graduated in 2009 from the Leeds College of Art. During the next 7 years, Alex worked towards methods of art appreciation. This approach to audio and visual connections earned him the highest award a graduate can be granted by an Art School.

An Alex Farrar installation can often leave you wondering… how? With a playful and often random sensibility, Alex reimagines ordinary objects so that an audience may physically experience and engage an artwork like no other. The longer you experience an installation, the more connected you may feel to the piece. By always pushing the boundaries, his artwork, is never as it seems.

A Zero Halliburton aluminium attache

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL WORKSPACE IN THREE WORDS…*

‘Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten’ is the best I’ve found so far.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST IMPORTANT ARTIST’S TOOL?

It’s a horrible answer but I couldn’t do much without a laptop, I am looking forward to buying a Mig/Mag welder before the end of the year but this probably won’t change my emailing habits.
