Born in Japan’s Okayama prefecture in 1966, Masamichi Katayama founded Tokyo-based interior design firm Wonderwall in 2000. Since then, he has been leading his practice to take an unconstrained approach in actualising design concepts while respecting conventional and traditional design philosophies. Wonderwall creates spatial environments that enhance the vision and branding of their clients, while touching on the subconscious of the consumer. Katayama also teaches as a professor at the Musashino Art University’s Department of Scenography, Display and Fashion Design.
